A tea kettle is a handy thing to have to heat your water for making tea. They can come in a variety of sizes and types. Perhaps the biggest difference is electric vs. non-electric. The electric tea kettles can also come with some type of thermostat that will keep the temperature of the water around whatever you set it out.
Among non-electric tea kettles you will find the ubiquitous whistling tea kettle. You can even get them with harmonic whistles to alert you as to when you water is ready to make a good cup of hot black tea.
