If you have been looking for a prepared bottled ready-to-drink sweetened tea that doesn’t have tons of sugar in it, you are now in luck.

FoodBusinessNews.net announced here that Honest Tea now has a variety of beverage that is sweetened with stevia. It took them a long time to get it all together.

One reason why this was so surprised me. The FDA (them again) didn’t allow stevia to be an ingredient in beverages. Why for pity’s sake?! I’ve been using it for years in my tea.

The next problem was getting the formula just right so that the new tea tasted like they wanted it to and would be OK with consumers. Right now it does not appear to be available on their own website.

Personally, if I see some I will try it but I’m not too fond of the idea of a Passion Fruit Green Tea with Maqui Berry. Seems to be over doing things a bit with all that flavor.
