Not much information on this topic in the news yet but the November issue of Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention published details of a Japanese study. In this study, patients who had had colorectal polyps removed were divided into a control group and experimental group.
The experimental group was give 1.5 grams of green tea extracts daily. When checked twelve months later, the experimental group had only a 15% incident of polyps returning whereas the control group had 31%. So that means the rate was cut in half. Furthermore, the polyps that did recur in the green tea extract group were smaller than in the control group.
Just goes to show even more how good green tea can be for all of us.
