Found this recipe for chai tea today. If you will remember, I linked to a blog that showed the making of chai tea a little while back with great photos of the process. However, no amounts were available of the ingredients in order to make your own if you had not before.
Our source today, Starwest Botanicals, lists not only the ingredients but gives the amounts for each one. Apparently, the recipe is from the Madhur Jaffrey’s Indian Cooking book put out by Barron’s in 1983. It is made with unscented loose black tea. The source also has some chai teas for sale if you are interested.

Just a minor tea tidbit today. Tea news seems to be rather slow unless you’re celebrating another anniversary of the Boston Tea Party or keeping up with the latest on the change in the Boston Tea Party leadership. Then there was the news that the attacks in India have thrown a monkey wrench in plans to export more tea, through an overland route, to Pakistan.
Our little tidbit today comes from a massage certification site. The page the tidbit is from has to do with 50 Foods that Will Help You Feel and Look More Beautiful by Alisa Miller. The article breaks the foods down into those for overall health, those you eat for skin health and those to put on your skin. This is where the tidbit comes from though there is another note about green tea being good to ingest for tea health.
Placing tea bags on your eyes can help eliminate dark circles and puffy eyes. Green tea, more so than other teas, can help with the puffiness as it contains an anti-inflammatory.

World Tea News announced yesterday that they will be launching World Tea Webinars. The first is scheduled for January 15 on the topic of in-home tea sales. World Tea Expo and World Tea News focus on the business to business market of tea entrepreneurs.
World Tea Expo conference director, Stacie Woods, said that they can never do all the programs at the Expo that they want each year due to time constraints. Using the tea webinars will give them the opportunity to do so.
The other three webinars already announced are the January 29 program on authenticating a matcha supply, the February 12 program on marketing strategies and the February 26 program on the role of owners in a tea business. If they keep up at this rate of two programs each month, those in the tea business will have lots of opportunity to learn much which will help them with their tea businesses.
